Every Year After Review: A Second-Chance Romance That Works Better Than Expected | Every Year After review
Every Year After is a romantic drama about first love, heartbreak, and what happens when two people cross paths again years later.
I started Every Year After expecting a typical romance series, but it turned out to be much better than I expected.
The story follows a woman who returns to the town where she experienced her first love. Being back there brings back old memories, old emotions, and unanswered questions from a relationship that never fully left her behind.
The series moves between the past and present, gradually showing how the relationship began, what pulled them together, what pushed them apart, and what is happening in their lives now.
One thing I really liked is that the story isn't only about romance. It spends time building the characters and their emotional journeys, which makes the relationship feel more believable. The lakeside setting, beautiful locations, and soundtrack also add a lot to the overall experience.
The chemistry between the leads works well, and the emotional moments feel natural rather than forced. If you enjoy second-chance romance stories, small-town settings, and character-driven relationships, there is a lot to like here.
That said, the series doesn't do anything particularly new. The story follows many familiar romance tropes, and most of the major twists are easy to predict. If you've watched a lot of romantic dramas, you'll probably know where things are heading long before the ending.
For me, that's the biggest weakness. The execution is good, but the overall formula feels very familiar.
Still, I enjoyed watching it. The characters are likable, the romance works, and the emotional moments land when they need to.
Rating: 7/10
